Henkel Corp. is recalling 25 lots of Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip extra-strong mousse after learning the aerosol cans can leak and rupture under pressure, creating what the company describes as an explosion risk. The recall, posted by the FDA on August 11, covers the 6.76 fl. oz. (200 ml) cans distributed to hair salons across 12 states through 21 distributors.
What triggered the recall
Henkel says the action followed just one customer complaint and two reports from salons, including one incident in which a stylist reported bruising to a hand. The company has not disclosed the exact packaging flaw beyond describing it as an issue that lets the pressurized product escape the can unexpectedly.
