How we correct

  • Material errors of fact are corrected in the article body and noted in a dated correction line at the foot of the article.
  • Headline and summary errors are corrected in place, with the correction note stating what the original said.
  • Typographical and grammatical fixes that do not change meaning are made without a note.
  • We do not delete an article to resolve an error. If a piece cannot be corrected, it is retracted with a standing explanation at the same URL.

Updates versus corrections

An update adds new information to a story that was accurate when published; a correction fixes something that was wrong. We label them differently, and both carry a date. Articles also show a machine-readable modified date so search engines and readers see the same history.

Requesting a correction

Write to newsroom@thryv-affiliate.com with the article URL, the specific passage, and the evidence. We aim to acknowledge within two business days. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, ask for the matter to be escalated to the managing editor; that request is handled by someone who was not involved in the original decision.

Right of reply

Organisations and individuals substantively criticised in our reporting are offered an opportunity to respond before publication where that is practical, and their response is represented fairly in the piece.
