DR Power Equipment is recalling approximately 320 PRO MAX30 walk-behind lawn mowers in the U.S. after the Consumer Product Safety Commission received 19 reports that the blade-control system can fail, allowing the blades to keep operating even after a user releases the control bar.

What's affected

The recall covers three PRO MAX30 30-inch walk-behind mower models — WM25030DEN, WM25030DMN and WM25030DMNR — manufactured by Generac Power Systems and distributed by DR Power Equipment. Nine additional units were sold in Canada.

  • WM25030DEN — serial numbers 3015894821 to 3017342386
  • WM25030DMN — serial numbers 3015662325 to 3017342379
  • WM25030DMNR — serial number 3015913138

Affected mowers were sold through independent power equipment retailers and drpower.com between September 2024 and September 2025, for between roughly $1,600 and $1,800.

The hazard

The CPSC says the blade control system can operate "without the blade control system engaged or continue to operate even after the release of the control," creating a serious laceration risk. The agency has logged 19 reports of the malfunction; no injuries have been reported to date.

What to do if you own one

Owners should stop using the mower immediately unless a free repair kit has already been installed, and contact DR Power at 877-221-4038 or recall@drpower.com to arrange a repair. Serial numbers are typically found on a plate near the mower's frame or engine deck.

Buyers of commercial-grade walk-behind mowers in this price range should check the serial number ranges above even if the unit was purchased secondhand, since the recall follows the equipment rather than the original buyer.
