Almost every home charger delivers the same 7.4 kW on a single-phase supply, so the rating is not the decision. What separates them is whether they can follow a cheap overnight tariff automatically, whether they balance load against the rest of the house, and what the installer will charge to fit them.

With solar on the roof the Zappi pays for its premium within a couple of years. Without it, the Ohme ePod extracts the most value from a dynamic tariff for the least installed cost, and the Wallbox Pulsar Plus is the honest budget option if you charge on a fixed cheap rate anyway.
Specifications and list prices come from each manufacturer's own product page. Offer prices are read from the retailer at the time shown next to the price and are not supplied by the brands.
THRYV publishes the criteria before the shortlist, scores each product against them, and states plainly where a figure comes from the manufacturer rather than our own testing. Prices change constantly — we publish only offers we checked ourselves, with the time we checked. We may earn a commission from the links on this page; it never changes a ranking or a score.
