The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says about 21,380 NEWDERY-brand power banks can explode or catch fire, after the company received nine reports of the lithium-ion battery igniting, including one house fire that caused an estimated $2 million in property damage and one report of a burn injury.
What's recalled
The recalled model, the ZHX-PB22, is a black power bank with a yellow charging cable. The brand name is engraved on the front and the model number is printed on the back. It was sold exclusively on Amazon.com between October 2023 and November 2024 for $27 to $50, imported by Shenzhen Xinkewangda Electronics Co., doing business as NEWDERY, of China.
