American Regent Animal Health has recalled select lots of Adequan Canine Injection and Adequan i.m. Injection, two widely used joint medications for dogs and horses, after discovering glass fibers in retained product samples during routine testing.
Which lots are affected
- Adequan Canine Injection (100 mg/mL, 5 mL multidose vials), lots 3369 and 25011
- Adequan i.m. Injection (500 mg/5 mL, single-dose vials), lots 24416 and 25265P
- Distribution dates for the affected lots ranged from May 2024 through January 2026
What went wrong
American Regent says the glass fibers were found during company testing of retained samples, not through a reported adverse event. The affected products reached veterinary practices, online pharmacies, distributors and wholesalers nationwide. The recall was carried out with the FDA's knowledge.
